Green Story

Design for the future

Ecological innovations such as continual use of recycled materials and high potential for earning LEED® certification make LG Hausys a state-of-the-art supplier for all industries.
Our HI-MACS® production facility in Adairsville, GA has reduced water waste output substantially each year. And by re-purposing previously discarded materials and deploying an aggressive waste analysis and separation process, we reduced solid waste output by almost 90%.
Sustainability is the mindset at LG Hausys.
The campaign to soften our impact on the environment is ongoing and never-ending. We are designing responsibly today for a better tomorrow.

A recognized leader in the worldwide building and decorative product sectors, LG Hausys is committed to promoting clean and safe environments.
Our mission is to deliver innovative products in an environmentally sound manner, to help improve the lives of people who use and work with our products. LG Hausys is steadfast in its pledge to not only limit our impact on the environment, but to improve it with eco-conscious product design, energy and water efficiencies, and with well-planned management of by-products.

Manufacture responsibly

  • Redesign

Redesign The HI-MACS® factory in Adairsville, GA began operations in 2005, supplying North America and Europe. LG Hausys totally redesigned its waste management plan to achieve eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing.
  • Reclaim

Reclaim All sheets of HI-MACS® 100% Acrylic Solid Surface undergo a closed wet-sanding process which captures all solid surface dust in the water. This keeps dust out of the air both in and around the facility. The water and captured dust is then channeled to a cleansing facility, and clean water is routed back to be re-used in the sanders.
  • Reduce

Reduce Larger particles are filtered from the water stream and collected into supersacks. Gases created from HI-MACS® thermal curing process are captured, preventing the release of fumes into the plant and surrounding areas. These procedures greatly reduce the impact on the environment.
  • Reuse

Reuse At our plants, we chose fully re-usable Supersacks to bring in raw materials, send palettes back for re-use, and collect and recycle the cover films using in our manufacturing. Our proprietary process recaptures and reuses up to 90% of the acetone cleaning material used during mixing and casting
  • Recycle

Recycle All HI-MACS® trim material and any sheets not up to our production standards are repurposed, becoming part of the up to 35% recycled content of HI-MACS® Eden Plus surface material.
  • Reaffirm

Reaffirm LG Hausys reaffirms its dedication to sustainable manufacturing with the new Viatera® production facility opening in 2011. The new plant was carefully and consciously designed to avoid impact on the surrounding wetlands.
