Kitchen Countertop Installation
1. Ensure countertop is flat and level.
- Before the first job, please check the kitchen is set as the drawings.
- Check the countertop level and adjust if not.
2. Checking countertop size and adjust
- After put the countertop on the kitchen, check if it is same as the drawings.
- If the drawing and fabricated product is not same, adjust on the field if you can.
3. Putting countertop on the kitchen
- When you finish the leveling, put HI-MACS® countertop on the cabinet.
- Make certain you give horizontal tolerance within 3mm to eliminate installation failure caused by poor levelness.
4. Attaching blocks
- A corner block is placed at each corner of the radius cut cooktop cutout and should be installed just after the cut out is routed.
These blocks are placed on the bottom side of the sheet and will be adhered or bonded to the cooktop.
- Blocks function as weight supporter and shock absorber.
5. Mounting sink (When Sinkbowl is Dissimilar Materials from HI-MACS®)
- When corner block has been placed, flip countertop and apply silicone to the top of sink flange and to the bottom of the countertop at the flange perimeter edge.
- When applying silicone make sure that no crevice between countertop and sinkbowl.
6. Making hole for Faucet
- After mounting sink bowl, plunge a hole on the middle of sink bowl using router.
7. Settle the position of countertop
- When finishing faucet hole, put the countertop on the kitchen with L shape and level.
- If there is no problem, continue the joint process.
8. Countertop joint job
- When all process are done properly, begin to bond the countertops.
- You need to use proper adhesives and we are not able to guarantee warranty coverage caused by using different glues or instant glue.
9. Buffing
- After the adhesive has dried, remove clamp and use grinder to remove excessive adhesive and finish the joint with sanding.
10. Silicone Finish
- After buffing clean the countertop and use silicone when needed.
11. Installation checking
- Check the joint of countertop, leveling, scratches, crack and other possible A/S items and make sure everything is ok.
12. Clean and finish
- After finishing installation, clean the field and evacuate.
